We interpose our WAN Emulation test rig between a workstation and a LAN connected Application server. Then simply operate the application over any permutation of network conditions.
We collect all data and report how the application performance is affected by the main network characteristics known to cause problems. E.g bandwidth restriction, delay, jitter, packet loss, etc.
